The Ultimate Harbinger Currency Strategy in PoE's Fisha League

Feb-06-2026 PST Category: Path of Exile
Fisha League is off to an explosive start, and if your opening weekend looked anything like ours, you're already swimming in currency. After extensive testing, refinement, and plenty of blue explosions, we've landed on what is easily one of the most consistent and scalable currency strategies available right now: Harbinger farming with idols and scarabs.

This setup turns Harbingers into walking piñatas of Chaos, Ancient, Exalted, POE currency and Fracturing Orbs, with the ever-present dream of mirror shard drops always looming in the background. The best part? It scales smoothly from budget-friendly to absurdly juiced, works early in Atlas progression, and doesn't require constant trading or social interaction. You kill blue men, pick up shards, and get paid.

Let's break it down step by step.

What Are Harbingers and Why Farm Them?

Harbingers are special blue enemies that don't take direct damage. Instead, they summon waves of monsters from glowing blue circles. Killing those monsters drains the Harbinger's health until it eventually dies, dropping currency shards of many types.

The core value of this strategy comes from:

 Chaos Orb shards

 Ancient Orb shards

 Exalted Orb shards

 Fracturing Orb shards

 Rare but possible Mirror Shards

With the right setup, these shards can:

1.Drop in duplicated stacks

2.Convert directly into full currency orbs

3.Spawn from powerful Harbinger bosses that drop vastly more loot

This is where idols and scarabs completely transform Harbingers from "nice bonus" to a full-blown currency engine.

Understanding the Idol System

The idol system is the backbone of this strategy. While there are technically six idol shapes, they boil down into four functional categories, each with its own mod pool:

 1x1 idols

 2x2 idols

 2-slot idols (1x2 or 2x1)

 3-slot idols (1x3 or 3x1)

Orientation doesn't matter for mod pools-1x3 and 3x1 share the same mods, as do 1x2 and 2x1.

Each idol size serves a specific purpose in maximizing Harbinger value.

The Mandatory 2x2 Idol: Shards Becoming Orbs

The single most important mod in the entire strategy appears only on 2x2 idols:

Currency shards dropped by Harbingers can drop as currency items instead

This mod is mandatory. Without it, the strategy loses a massive portion of its value.

Key points:

You only need one idol with this mod

 It does not stack

This should be your first purchase, even on a tight budget

Ideally, your 2x2 idol also has the prefix:

Your maps contain an additional Harbinger

The price jump between a basic shard-conversion idol and one with an extra Harbinger is enormous, often jumping from chaos-level prices to multiple divines. The good news? You can start cheap and upgrade later without changing the rest of your setup.

3x1 Idols: Forcing Harbinger Bosses

Next up are 3x1 (or 1x3) idols, which introduce another absolutely mandatory modifier:

Harbingers in your maps have a 20-25% chance to be replaced by a powerful Harbinger boss

Powerful Harbinger bosses drop dramatically more currency than regular Harbingers. You want this chance to reach 100%.

How to do it:

Two idols with 25% rolls get you halfway

Combine them with Harbinger Scarab of Regency to reach 100%

If your rolls are lower, you may need three idols

Just like the 2x2 idols, these can also roll:

Your maps contain an additional Harbinger

Each one stacks, and the difference between "chance for boss" and "chance + extra Harbinger" is massive in both output and price.

Stacking Extra Harbingers

Once your core mods are in place, the rest of your idol slots should focus on adding as many Harbingers per map as possible.

The goal layout looks like this:

 1× 2x2 idol with shard-to-orb conversion

2× 3x1 idols guaranteeing Harbinger bosses

As many additional 3x1 idols as possible with "Your maps contain an additional Harbinger"

Each extra Harbinger scales:

 Your scarabs

 Your map device investment

 Your overall currency per map

Even at a modest budget, hitting 13-14 extra Harbingers per map is achievable-and already extremely profitable.

2x1 and 1x1 Idols: Speed and Consistency

Smaller idols round out the setup by improving efficiency.

Additional Currency Shards

2x1 idols can roll:

Harbingers have a 50% chance to drop an additional stack of currency shards

Testing shows this effect effectively caps at 100%, so stacking far beyond that provides no extra benefit.

Extra Harbinger Chance

1x1 and 2x1 idols can roll:

Your maps have a 40% chance to contain an additional Harbinger

This caps at 100%, so once you hit it, stop stacking.

Cooldown Recovery (Very Important)

One of the biggest bottlenecks in Harbinger farming is how long they take to spawn monsters. That's why this mod is incredibly valuable:

Harbingers in your maps have 20-30% increased cooldown recovery rate

More cooldown recovery = faster spawns = faster clears. Stack as much of this as possible.Scarab Synergies and Setup

With a six-slot map device unlocked, the strategy really comes alive.

Mandatory Scarabs

You'll always want these three:

1.Harbinger Scarab of War Hoards

2.Doubles currency shard drops

3.This is the single biggest multiplier in the strategy

Harbinger Scarab of Regency

 Guarantees powerful Harbinger bosses

Essential to synergize with idol boss chance

Harbinger Scarab of Obelisks

 Adds clickable obelisks around Harbingers

Each one drops additional currency shards

Effectively adds another boss-worth of loot

In addition, run two standard Harbinger Scarabs to add six more Harbingers baseline.

Combined with the Harbinger map device craft, you're guaranteeing nine Harbingers per map before idols-everything else stacks on top.

Map Choice and Rolling Strategy

Harbinger shard drops do not scale with map quantity, rarity, or pack size. However:

 All other drops do

Higher tiers mean better maps, scarabs, and side loot

If your build is weaker, this strategy works perfectly fine in lower tiers. If you're strong, you should:

Chisel and alch Tier 16 maps

Sustain Tier 16 and Tier 17 maps naturally

 Avoid over-rolling difficult mods

With only two Voidstones, Defiled Cathedral stands out as one of the best choices thanks to layout and density.

Why This Strategy Is So Good

Profitable even early in Atlas progression

 Scales endlessly with investment

 Minimal trading required

Generates maps, scarabs, and raw currency

Works in both low and high-tier content

Perhaps most importantly, it's incredibly low-stress. You don't need to price-check rares, interact with other players, or flip items. You kill blue enemies, pick up currency, and move on.

Final Thoughts

Harbinger farming in Fisha League is one of the cleanest, most efficient currency strategies available right now. It starts strong, scales harder than almost anything else, and rewards investment at every stage without forcing you into constant trade interactions.

If you like simple gameplay loops, consistent profit, more POE orbs and watching piles of currency shards turn into full orbs, this strategy is absolutely worth your time.
